Villa San

Showcasing an impressive array of artworks and handicrafts originating from China, Africa and Indonesia, Villa San comfortably accommodates 12 people in six large bedrooms (three doubles, three twins). These buildings are nestled around a 25m lap pool and set within lush gardens which incorporate elegant sculptures and a tranquil meditation terrace.

Villa San is a stone’s throw from Ubud’s Royal Palace – where cultural performances are held nightly – and very convenient for many of Ubud’s favourite treasures and attractions. While the property itself is very quiet and private, a vast, bustling local market is only 300m from the front door while a delightful variety of high quality restaurants and cafes can be found in and around the centre of town.

About Villa San
Guests at Villa San are spoiled for choice when it comes to ways to relax. Reflecting the owners’ artistic and spiritual leanings, there’s the loft studio for painting, a telescope for star-gazing from the rooftop terrace at night, and a Buddhist stupa and yoga terrace tucked in a quiet corner of the property for group or individual meditation and yoga practice.

The spacious grounds offer freedom and flexibility for both families and groups of friends, with hammocks and sun loungers arranged around the 25 x 5m pool and a pool pavilion seating up to 15 people. Inside, as well as the living and dining spaces, there are two well-equipped entertainment rooms – one is part of the two bedroom master suite, the other adjacent the informal dining room – a gym and a children’s playroom. The villa showcases some exquisite art and handicrafts from China, Ghana and Indonesia.

Villa San comprises six large bedrooms – three doubles and three twins. French doors from all the bedroom pavilions look out over tranquil gardens, only steps away from the long sloping lawn and the inviting pool.

Villa San Accommodation

At the heart of Villa San lies a two-storey living pavilion whose crisp modern lines and eclectic collection of wooden art pieces draw the eye from the moment you step into the villa. The pavilion houses the lounge, dining and entertainment areas as well as a playroom, artist studio, rooftop terrace and the kitchen. White casual seating, chrome and glass desks and crisp white walls are perfect foil for the exquisite Balinese, Chinese and African handicrafts in bedrooms and living areas.

The six bedroom suites, all with spacious walk-in wardrobes and luxurious bathrooms, are built in an L-shape around this living pavilion; each a discreet distance from its neighbour.

Villa San Living & Dining
Villa San’s air conditioned entertainment lounge features one of the property’s two state of the art home theatre systems, incorporating a large flat-screen satellite TV, DVD player and stereo system. Guests can sit back and relax on one of the big comfy sofas and look out over the property through floor-to-ceiling windows. Glass doors from the entertainment lounge open directly to the open-sided living area, furnished with more comfortable sofas and an unusual collection of wood and glass sculptures. Just a few steps away from the living area is a professionally equipped gym, while to the right is a casual dining area, the kids’ playroom and finally the green, spacious lawns and sparkling swimming pool area beyond.

While most of the cooking is done behind the scenes in the staff kitchen, no expense has been spared in the open-plan ‘front’ kitchen, where the chef makes his final meal preparations and where guests are welcome to indulge in their own culinary creations. You’ll be delighted by the bright, chunky Spanish-style crockery, the range of appliances and the sizable wine fridge. Separated from the kitchen area by a timber-topped breakfast bar, the dining area is open on three sides, looking out onto gardens and the swimming pool lawn. Its long wooden table with comfortable seating can accommodate up to 14 dinner guests.

Upstairs, reached by a spiral staircase hidden next to the pool steps, an artist’s studio with wide glass windows provides a private, quiet hideaway. The adjacent rooftop terrace is a perfect place to scan the heavens, with the help of a professional telescope.

Villa San Ground
Pool loungers, hammocks and casual seating shaded by sun umbrellas are comfortably arranged throughout Villa San’s well-kept gardens, while a covered gazebo seating 12-15 lies at the far end of the pool.

Villa San’s sparkling 25 x 5m pool is just perfect for swimming laps. For lazier times, there’s a lounging ledge at the deep end (1.8m), while the steps at the shallow end (1.2m) are wide and safe for younger swimmers.

Tucked away in a quiet corner behind the master suite is a tree-shaded terrace for yoga practice, suitable for groups of up to 15 people. Behind it, a traditional stone stupa (a Buddhist meditation building known as the Serene room) offers the perfect place for moments of peaceful reflection.

Staff
A friendly, helpful team of staff are on hand around the clock, with a butler and chef available to meet every request. They are knowledgeable about local Hindu cultural activities, art galleries and the myriad options for exploring and learning about the region (guests can take a craft or cooking class, or book an in-house meditation or yoga session) and will recommend the best of local restaurants, cafes and spas.

Most of the 11 Balinese staff at Villa San have lived in the Ubud area all their lives, and are very willing to share their vast knowledge of this fascinating part of Bali with villa guests. Though no staff members live on site, there are at least two staff on the property around the clock.

Children at Villa San
Villa holidays are an excellent option for families, where advantages include having access to your own private facilities, such as swimming pool, living space and gardens and having the freedom to use them whenever you want.

Knowing that the kids can run around happily, independently and safely, without having you to worry about other guests, is a real plus – and one that means parents are certain to have a more relaxed holiday too. Villa San has a long lawn for Frisbees and ball games, a great swimming pool with shallow section and two TV/entertainment rooms. There’s also a dedicated playroom with toys, games and pool equipment.

A particular highlight at Villa San is the kid-friendly staff. All Asians have an inherent love of children which means that the villa staff make them feel as welcome as adults. Having these willing babysitters on hand also gives you plenty of flexibility and freedom to do your own exploring beyond the villa grounds (full time babysitters will cost a little extra). Although equipped kitchens allow you to prepare meals for fussy eaters or babies with ease, staff will happily to do this for you – just talk through your requirements and meal schedules with the villa manager or cook and they will take care of the rest.

Neither do you have to worry about packing all that cumbersome extra equipment when you stay at Villa San as we can provide you with all the essentials, and more – from pool safety fences to baby baths, cots, high chairs and car seats. What we don’t have in-house, we can generally hire in for a small fee. Just talk through your requirements with us when you make your reservation and we’ll make sure it’s all there ready and waiting for your arrival.

And when the excitement of exploring the villa starts to wear off, check out our Things to do page; there’s plenty in the area to keep kids of all ages amused throughout the holiday.

Some of the family-friendly facilities offered at Villa San include: Kids room with TV/ DVD player, Children’s books, Board games and toys, Children pool toys, Electronic Games (Wii), Children’s menus, Baby high chair, Swimming pool with shallow section, TV/Entertainment room

With elegant interiors and chic, white-walled, contemporary grandeur, this five-bedroom villa extends into a lengthy garden that offers surprises - a sunken poolside lounge, a rooftop terrace, a 30-metre swimming pool, secluded bedroom pavilions and some enchanting tropical landscaping.

Villa Ombak Putih

Villa Ombak Putih is located in the seaside village of Cemagi in south-west Bali, a five-minute stroll from the beach and the remarkable sea temple of Pura Gede Luhur Batungaus, this fully staffed, serene villa is encircled by rice fields and wrapped in the arms of traditional Balinese life.

Perhaps the best way to explore this beautiful rural area of Bali is by foot or bicycle (bicycle hire can be arranged); the lanes around Villa Ombak Putih are flat and quiet as long as you steer clear of the main road. Five minutes’ walk up the black-sand beach is the small sea temple of Pura Gede Luhur Batungaus; it sits on a rocky outcrop and is reminiscent of a miniature Tanah Lot, Bali’s most famous sea temple located two or three kilometres further up the coast (9km by road). Heading inland, before you reach the main road, is a village temple and traditional market, where there always seems to be a lot of colourful activity.

About Villa Ombak Putih
Named after – the ‘white-capped waves’ – views of which can be relished from its upper floor rooms and terraces – five-bedrooms Villa Ombak Putih breathes an ocean-inspired theme in every element of its design. This majestic and contemporary-styled property presents crisp white exteriors and cool cream marble floors, while natural Palimanan stone is the material of the villa’s striking bas-relief murals and impressive Balinese statues, which flank the grand entranceway and border the ponds.

This pale white stone features abundantly throughout the villa and defines the garden with plump, perfectly placed pebbles and warm textured paving. Even the flowers in the 3300-square-metre garden reflect the foamy surf: all are white, from the sweet-scented snowy blossoms on the many frangipani trees to the softly flowering jasmine that borders the lawns.

In keeping with the villa’s seaside location, 150 metres from the rugged Cemagi beach, white furnishings are characterized by cheerful cushion fabrics, splashes of blue and turquoise in the ocean-inspired photographic artwork, a dark blue wall, a rustic blue door and tastefully displayed time-worn aquamarine artefacts.

This gorgeous villa, which was completed in 2011, presents two enormous master bedrooms with sexy, semi-open-air bathrooms, three stand-alone guest suites, a 30-metre swimming pool and a delightful choice of indoor and outdoor living areas and dining spaces. A full team of staff is on hand at Villa Ombak Putih to look after every guest need with butler service and superb home-cooking.

Villa Ombak Putih Accommodation

Guests enter Villa Ombak Putih a stepping-stone avenue over a large, clear-water pond where two huge overflowing urns provide the soothing sounds of falling water. Floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors run the length of the villa, removing all possibility of secrets; the state-of-the-art living areas, gardens, and swimming pool simply rush in to say hello. To the right is the formal dining area and kitchen; to the left, a comfortable lounge.

Upstairs, the two super-chic master bedrooms are mirror images of each other; each with a sea-view balcony. Outside, the garden is dominated by a 30-metre infinity pool flanked by an alfresco dining space and a sunken pool bar/lounge, above which a roof-top terrace provides the ideal spot for relaxed sundowners. Continuing down through the gardens, three stand-alone bedroom suites are beautifully integrated into the greens and whites of the landscape and are aligned in such a way as to provide guests with a sense of autonomy and privacy.

Bedrooms
Master bedrooms 1 & 2 are located upstairs in the main building and are both as sleek and sexy as each other. Lined with huge blow up images from the owner’s travels around Indonesia, each bedroom has white linens, hardwood floors, a high-pitched ceiling and wide views of the ocean from not only the king-size bed and the stone-paved balcony, but from the bathtub and shower as well. The bathrooms carry a nautical theme of seahorse- and starfish-shaped fittings to complement the ever-present sight of the ocean. To the rear of each bedroom, a spacious dressing areas faces away from the sea and yields to rice fields and a volcanic horizon.

In the antechamber between the master bedrooms is a large sitting area with two white painted daybeds and a wooden table under a translucent white skylight. Glass doors open out to a furnished stone terrace with ocean and garden views.

Guest bedroom 1 is situated in the gardens, just below the pool. This room is bathed in natural sunlight courtesy of two sets of sliding glass doors, one of which leads out to a stone terrace overlooking a manicured lawn and two very inviting hammocks. A king-size bed rests on a raised plinth beneath a stone frieze depicting tropical palm fronds and frangipani flowers, while two white leather easy chairs just beg to be sat upon and a large white wardrobe provides plenty of storage. A semi-open outdoor bathroom with monsoon shower and a bathtub invites guests to experience bathing under the sun and stars.

Guest bedroom 2 sits next to a garden of wild grasses and flowers, a little further along the garden pathway. Sliding doors open onto a wooden deck, bringing the outdoors in. This room is furnished with a white-painted king-size bed and two dark wooden wardrobes. A large wooden lamp and an Indonesian totem sit alongside a zebra striped leather chair, while a huge image depicting a school of tropical fish reminds guests which country they are in. The bathroom features a sunken open-air tub with hand-held shower for more outdoor glory.

Guest bedroom 3 lies at the very bottom of the garden, amidst a grove of juvenile palm trees. Two inviting lawn chairs rest on the terrace taking in this miniature forest setting while, inside, the room is dominated by a blonde-wood king-size bed, flanked by wicker lamps and heralded by a bird carving. Two similar coloured wardrobes provide storage, while more tantalizing images of Indonesian island-life adorn the walls. The open-air bathroom is noteworthy for its water wall and cleverly designed, monsoon shower that looks as though it could be a time portal to another dimension.

Villa Ombak Putih Living & Dining Area
In the main house, Ombak Putih’s air-conditioned white and blue themed living room is furnished with two comfy sofas and chairs and an antique coffee table all set before a 46-inch TV with satellite channels and a Blu-Ray disc player. Antique wooden artifacts and a Balinese gong adorn the room and sliding glass lead out from here to the garden. Through a pair of blue-painted traditional Balinese doors is a glass-shelved cupboard and a thoughtfully positioned guest washroom.

Separated from the living area by the grand central foyer, the dining room and kitchen are dominated by a very long and very beautiful suar wood table with seating for ten lit by three hanging lanterns with huge woven bamboo shades. A montage of aqua-blue images embellish the walls alongside tribal shields from Papua. Floor-to-ceiling glass doors at one end of the dining area provide garden views and lead out to the pool and terrace.

The villa has an enviable, air conditioned feature kitchen that’s almost over-equipped with serious brand-name appliances. Characterized by a wall of rough-cut marble mosaic and polished concrete work surfaces, the kitchen includes a massive central island lit by three hanging lanterns and accompanied by four wooden bar stools.

The sunken pool lounge is sure to see the lion’s share of daytime activity given its very social poolside situation among the gardens. Open on three sides, it features a kitchen area and guest washroom, a wooden bar, antique Indonesian daybeds that serve as tables, bar stools, and wide, built-in sofas with enough seating room for a small army. Above, on the rooftop terrace, daybeds beckon for sunbathing and sunset cocktails.

The alfresco dining area sits to the right of the pool between the sunken lounge and a patio area lined with river stones and furnished with two all-weather couches. A ten-seater dining table provides a lovely spot to enjoy dinner after the heat of the day has subsided.

Villa Ombak Putih Ground
The villa’s mature garden stretches for what feels like forever, changing its characteristics as it meanders past the pool and the guest bedrooms towards the property’s boundary. Poolside, sun loungers and two double daybeds are positioned next to mature frangipanis, palms and lilies that pepper the lawns. At the far end of the 30-metre pool the water overflows down a three meters cascade to a smaller pool fronted by two Ganesha (elephant god) statues. Beyond, a ‘wild’ garden of ornamental grasses and white flowering shrubs eventually gives way to a small ‘enchanted forest’ of palm trees and silence.

Children at Ombak Putih
Villa holidays are an excellent option for families, where family-friendly advantages include having access to your own private facilities, such as a swimming pool, living space and gardens, and having the freedom to use them whenever you want. Knowing that the kids can run around happily, independently and safely, without you having to worry about other guests, is a real plus – and one that means parents are certain to have a more relaxed holiday too.

As well as providing a large garden for running around in and playing hide-and-seek, Ombak Putih has a team of friendly staff who will go out of their way to make children feel as welcome as adults. Having these willing helpers on hand gives guests plenty of flexibility and freedom to do their own exploring beyond the villa grounds (full-time babysitting incurs a small extra cost).

Staff at Ombak Putih
One of the greatest advantages of staying in a villa is the personal service provided by a dedicated team of professional staff. The 14-strong staff team at Villa Ombak Putih have been thoughtfully recruited; their aim is to look after every guest with true Balinese style and hospitality.

Villa Lataliana I
The majestic five-bedrooms villa Lataliana I was built in 2011 and is part of an exclusive enclave of two villas complete with a dedicated on-site spa. This exceptional property blends stylish modern architecture with custom-made furnishings crafted from the century-old recycled timbers of a traditional Indonesian phinisi schooner. With its spacious rooms, large free-form swimming pool, historic joglo bale pavilion, dazzling designer chandeliers, soothing antique water features and high-tech facilities, Lataliana I is classy and chic. It also presents an abundance of space, making it the perfect venue for weddings.

Bedrooms
All five of Lataliana’s bedrooms are equipped with air conditioning, ceiling fans, satellite-channel TVs and Blu-ray disc players. Each has its own unique character or colour scheme – ranging from gold to pink to turquoise – and each is elegantly furnished with beds, cabinets, and chests fashioned from the recycled wood of a traditional sailing boat. Four bedrooms feature king-size beds (two of which can be converted to twins) while the smallest bedroom is furnished with a queen-size bed. The two master bedrooms have retractable mosquito nets around their beds. All five ensuite bathrooms are remarkably spacious; finished with non-slip acid marble floors, and fitted with twin washbasins, soaking tubs, and monsoon showers that are open to the sky in private walled courtyards or gardens. Even the old ship’s rum barrels have been used to create the vanity units in one of the bathrooms.

Living Room & TV Room
The large living room has glass doors at both the front and the back that can be opened for cross ventilation or closed for air-conditioned comfort (ceiling fans are also an option). This elegant room is furnished with a baby grand piano, an Oriental rug, and segmented sofas and modern daybeds big enough to accommodate ten people. Soaring above the terrazzo floor is a pitched roof with a skylight at its pinnacle which channels sunlight or moonlight into the room and highlights a spectacular chandelier reminiscent of a bunch of gold ribbons. The gold theme is carried through to a fountain ornamenting the pond that lies just beyond this room. The living room is perfect for entertaining as it opens to a broad covered terrace running the length of the building, just a step or two above the pool deck.

Connected to the living room is an air-conditioned home theatre room with Bose surround sound and a 51-inch flat-screen satellite-channel TV and Blu-ray disc player, complemented by a library of 1000 DVDs. The room is furnished with three comfortable sofas, two of which are customised chaise longues, each big enough for two, plus a large daybed-type-sofa big enough for at least four, all are crafted from the recycled wood of an old phinisi boat. Fitted shelves on one wall are filled with books while glass doors open to the covered terrace at the front.

Dining Area & Kitchen
Open on three sides to the pool deck, the dining pavilion features a terrazzo floor and stone pillars supporting a vaulted wood-lined roof. Cooled by natural breezes and four ceiling fans, it is furnished with a solid wood table seating 16 and a sideboard. A guest wash room also leads off the dining pavilion, and to one side is a pond which carries the sound of water in motion as it cascades over a traditional wooden mortar that was originally used for threshing rice.

The villa’s commercial kitchen, professionally equipped with stainless steel appliances, is conveniently situated behind the dining pavilion and is the domain of Lataliana’s three chefs. In addition, a small kitchenette for guest use is positioned next to the bedrooms towards the back of the property, and equipped with a kettle, coffee maker, toaster and fridge.

Pool & Ground
The 25-metre free-form swimming pool features comfortable lounging shelves at two ends and a bubbling water feature crafted from an old millstone. Three ancient frangipani trees have been transplanted around the pool deck, together with a unique relaxation gazebo – actually a traditional, Indonesian, grass-roofed cowshed, which presents an unusual twist on the more-familiar form of bale pavilion. At the head of the pool, presiding over the garden is a second bale, featuring the ornately-carved core of an antique timber joglo building from Java, complete with a typical trapezium-shaped roof. This multipurpose structure can be used as a wedding pavilion, a bar area with a portable bar, or a dining venue with a removable awning that extends to the four corners of the raised deck. To one side of this is a gamelan of smiling musicians depicted in white stone.

Villa Lataliana II
Lataliana II is a charming two-bedrooms villa with contemporary architecture inspired by Indonesian vernacular design. The property, which was completed in 2011, sleeps up to four people in two separate buildings positioned on opposite sides of a 15-metre swimming pool within the boundaries of a tree- and flower-filled garden. One of the buildings, modelled on a traditional rice barn or lumbung, was designed specifically with families in mind.

On the opposite side of the pool is a stand-alone two-storey building constructed in the architectural style of a traditional lumbung or rice granary with a distinctive bonnet-shaped roof. On the upper floor is a large bedroom, while the ground floor presents a tiny kitchenette and an indoor-outdoor bathroom. Built into the lumbung, sheltered by a roof and overlooking the pool, is an elevated, open-sided relaxation space.

Master Bedroom
The spacious air-conditioned master bedroom has a non-slip acid marble floor and bay-shaped French windows that fold open to the swimming pool. Equipped with a satellite-channel TV, Blu-ray disc player, iPod dock and ceiling fan, the room is furnished with a king-size bed, reading lamps, and cabinets crafted from the recycled wood of an old phinisi schooner. The ceiling is fitted with runners that support an innovative retractable mosquito net, which forms a curtain around the bed. The large ensuite bathroom is light and airy, featuring a non-slip floor, twin washbasins, hanging and storage space, a freestanding bathtub for two, and a walk-in rain shower and toilet in separate cubicles, both of which open on one side to the fresh air.

Lumbung Bedroom
Designed with children or teenagers in mind (but equally suitable for a family happy to share their space), the lumbung offers a fully air-conditioned, two-level bedroom that can comfortably accommodate six. Here, a king-size bed converts to a pair of twins, a double bed reminiscent of a ship’s berth is built into the wall, and two sofas (one of which provides two single mattresses) are positioned on a mezzanine accessed via a solid wooden ladder. The bedroom’s timber floor extends through sliding glass doors onto a wooden balcony overlooking the garden and pool and framed by the bonnet-shaped roof. The bedroom is equipped with a satellite-channel TV, Blu-ray disc player, iPod dock and ceiling fan.

The bathroom is located downstairs and fitted with a single washbasin and toilet, a non-slip floor, a unit with hanging and storage space, and a funky wall mirror that literally makes a splash with its water-splatter design. Glass doors lead to a pebble-floored private courtyard with an open-air rain shower featuring a terrazzo splashback in the shape of a surfboard. A tiny kitchenette on the ground floor is equipped with a fridge and sink.

Living & Dining Area
The main room is open-plan with air-conditioning, ceiling fans, and a non-slip floor throughout, yet it features two distinct areas: the living room under a high pitched roof with a skylight and glass doors front and back, and the dining room and kitchenette under a flat roof. The living space is furnished with huge and exceptionally comfortable sofa-style daybeds with deep cushions, a coffee table, satellite channel TV, Blu-ray disc player and iPod dock. The dining area is furnished with a square table for eight. Adjacent to this, the kitchenette is built into the end wall and fitted with a marble worktop and a two-burner gas hob. It is equipped with a fridge, Nespresso coffee machine, and cupboards filled with quality glassware and crockery. This kitchenette is for guest use while Lataliana’s superb cuisine is prepared in the enclave’s professional kitchen, which is the domain of the chefs.

Sliding glass doors from the living area open onto the timber pool deck, which is partially sheltered by a pergola roof. Another set of glass doors beside the kitchen area open to a pretty patio with just enough space for a circular table and two chairs guarded by an ancient frangipani tree.

Ground & Pool
The 15-metre free-form swimming pool curves across the flat lawn, bordering both the lumbung and main house with steps on either side. The garden is filled with shrubs and colourful bougainvillea, parlour palms, lipstick palms and travellers’ palms, two gnarled and ancient frangipanis, a butterfly tree and one of the tall, mature trees from the villa takes its name. Sheltered underneath the balcony of the lumbung is a large open-sided relaxation space filled with mattresses and cushions. A barbecue is also provided.

Lataliana Villas Dining System
The villa offers a fixed price menu and a comprehensive list of wines, premium spirits, cocktails, mocktails, fresh juices and soft drinks. This makes meal ordering easy, but should guests require items that are not on the menu, Rita, the food and beverages manager, will be happy to accommodate any special requests or special diets. Dishes and drinks not listed on the menu are provided on a ‘cost’ basis with a 20 percent mark-up to cover the grocery shopping service. If guests require anything that is not on the menu they should notify the staff the evening before or over breakfast to allow for the shopping to be done in a timely fashion during the day.

Staff
Lataliana has a dedicated team of 22 staff serving the two villas within the enclave including a full time manager, chef, butlers, housekeepers, gardener/pool attendant, security guards.

Villa Kailasha

Villa Kailasha is ideal for a family or a small group of friends, while its velvety lawns are perfect for weddings and other celebrations against the awesome backdrop of the sea. Offering a complete escape from busy city life, Villa Kailasha will charm guests with classic architecture, stylish interiors, gorgeous gardens, modern facilities and an extraordinary amount of private space, complemented by a full team of caring staff who will attend to every need.

The villa is located twist rice fields and the beach within a Balinese village. It is a long way out of town and there are no restaurants, bars or shopping in the immediate vicinity apart from the five-star Alila Villas Soori, which is located just 300 metres away complete with a fine dining restaurant and an open-air bar serving cocktails beside the beach at sunset. The rugged black-sand beach and river estuary offers beautiful walks; this stretch of coastline is popular with surfers but there are strong rip currents and no life guards on the beach so it is not safe for swimming. The village temple is located close to the villa and temple ceremonies on the beach are not an uncommon sight.

Short Brief About Villa
With its series of single-storey pavilions leisurely spread across the breadth of a terraced coconut grove garden, its elegant interiors and its blend of modern, antique and Dutch-colonial-inspired furnishings, colourful fabrics and artwork, Villa Kailasha embraces contemporary-tropical style. Guests staying here have 11,000 square metres of tropical gardens to call their own, dotted with flowering trees and coconut palms that mingle with the scents of exotic blossoms. The villa’s comfortable living pavilion, a stand-alone dining pavilion and a separate dining terrace all stand open to the gentle trade winds and dramatic ocean views. In a hidden corner, a self-contained, two-bedroom guesthouse offers a peaceful retreat while on the other side of the gardens the master suite presents complete privacy with its own plunge pool for relaxing in during leisurely afternoons or under clear, star-filled skies at night. The huge garden rolls down to a dazzling 14-metre infinity-edged swimming pool bordered by a stone and grass deck with an open-sided gazebo to one side, and spectacular views of the rugged surf beach and the ocean, which is a mere three minutes’ walk from the villa’s front gate.

Villa Kailasha Accommodation

Villa Kailasha is approached via a neat driveway which opens into a large parking area with the villa on the seaward side and the staff service building discretely tucked away on the inland side below an orchard garden. An impressive porte cochere bordered by ponds heralds the entrance to the villa. Behind this is the living pavilion and, some distance to the left, the two-bedroom guesthouse. To the right lie the dining pavilion and the master suite. The swimming pool and comfortably furnished bale are positioned close to the beach on the far side of the gardens to make the most of the glorious sea views.

Villa Atacaya

Villa Atacaya is hidden-away in the sleepy hamlet of Banjar Nyanyi in Beraban village, just four kilometres from Bali’s famous Tanah Lot sea temple and Nirwana Bali Golf Club. The 18-hole championship golf course is bordered by ocean and rice fields, making it one of the most visually spectacular courses in Asia, while the wave-lashed Tanah Lot Temple is the most photographed attraction on the island and a must-see at sunset. The coastline to the northwest and southeast of Tanah Lot is famous for its surf beaches.

Virtually untouched by tourism, the villa is situated in the Tabanan Regency, which is known as Bali’s ‘rice bowl’ and is the most agriculturally productive area on the island. The riverside trails and rice fields around the villa offer delightful walks.

Villa Atacaya Accommodation

Surrounded by rice fields and directly facing the gentle stream of a river, the property offers stunning views from the open-air dining and living room. A yoga deck and relaxation area with big comfortable pillows overlooks the lush, greenery around the river.

Bounded by red brick walls, Villa Atacaya shares a driveway and parking area with its neighbour Villa Iskandar. If needed, the Villa Atacaya and Villa Iskandar can be rented at the same time thereby offering larger groups of guests a 9-bedroom renting option.

The main master bedroom’s adjoining bathroom is equipped with twin wash-basins of a terrazzo design situated beneath a full size mirror, a modern bath-tub with an amazing river view, a walk-in shower and separate toilet for total privacy, but its main feature has to be its external shower which is situated on its own private deck which directly overlooks the river’s rapids.

The second master bedroom embraces amazing views of the gardens, pool and river. Large sliding doors open onto its private deck for a breathtaking jungle view and its spacious bathroom, again with twin terrazzo wash basins has a walled garden area incorporating an open air shower and fabulous, oversized stone bath situated in a delightful pond and accessible by stepping-stones. This bathroom is totally open to the sky and planted with palms and bougainvillea.

The remaining two bedrooms (bedroom #3 and #4) are similar in design, yet each one has its own characteristics. The third bedroom is furnished with a king size bed and built in wardrobes with plenty of storage space for clothing and other possessions while bedroom 4 has a funky, 4-person bunk-bed, ideal for any family wishing to holiday with their children. Again this bedroom has plenty of storage space within the bunk system. Any little one would jump for joy at the sight of this wonderful ‘kids’ room. As with bedroom 3, this bathroom is totally open to the sky and planted with palms and bougainvillea and both boast ultra modern bath-tubs and outside showers, all in the comfort and privacy of walled surroundings.

All bedrooms are fitted with both ceiling fans and air-conditioning units and have electronic safes to ensure the safety of any valuables that your guests may wish to bring.

Villa Champuhan Living And Dining Area

The expansive living room is open on two sides and features a polished hardwood floor with natural floor coverings. It is cooled by natural breezes and ceiling fans, and amply furnished with a couple of extra large, very comfortable sofas, ottomans and an abundance of super soft cushions. The decor presents fresh white and natural stone walls complemented by its amazingly high ceiling, home to a stunning lighting system which may be adjusted to suit any mood, together with an impressive array of fine art and artifacts in keeping with its styling.

An antique Timorese dining table for ten is positioned in the centre of this spacious area located between a fully stocked, modern style bar and the ultra modern kitchen. While rustic artwork and primitive statues complete the fusion of ancient and avant-garde, there is an amazing view overlooking the lawn, pool and the dense jungle foliage of the river bank and to the rear of the dining room there is a flowing pond to relax and cool your guests while dining.

Being a brand new property, Villa Champuhan has an ultra-modern, spacious kitchen which guests are free to use at their own leisure or alternatively, they may simply ask the villa cook to prepare something rather special from our extensive menu. With state of the art Oven, Hob and Microwave and a large, double-door fridge/freezer, this really is a wonderful environment in which to prepare lunch and evening meals.

Our well-stocked library is an ideal place to go to simply relax and take in a book on the large, plush sofa and in the comfort of air conditioning should you wish. The sofa itself has a slide-out feature which transforms it into sleeping for two, should you invite additional guests to stay over or makes for two great additional children’s beds should your guests be a couple of families vacationing together.

Villa Champuhan offers high speed Wi-Fi internet connection free of charge. Inclusions in the rental rate:

The substantial open space within the garden, combined with the grandiose of the property and its extensive facilities, makes Villa Champuhan an ideal location for weddings, small private parties and other private events. The villa is also equipped with a back up automatic generator.
